Helping materials recovery facilities (MRFs) improve plastics recovery
Reimagining waste includes working with those deploying solutions for recovering valuable materials that can be used again—diverting waste sent to landfills and incinerators while getting one step closer to creating a world without waste.

Brightmark is working to help materials recovery facilities (MRFs) expand their recovery capabilities by offering solutions for difficult-to-recycle plastics. This can include anything from assorted hard plastic items like laundry baskets and crates to flexible films like baggies and bubble wrap.

SEVEN MATERIALS OF CONCERN
To best support Brightmark’s recycling process, we ask materials recovery facilities to target and remove the items listed below. Removing these materials prior to sending plastic waste to Brightmark helps streamline our recycling operations and ensures a safe working environment.

How the program works
Plastics can be collected from drop-off sites, recycling programs, and more.

The collected plastic is transported to the Brightmark Circularity Center in Ashley, Indiana.

Brightmark turns the plastic waste into the building blocks for new, circular products, which have the potential to become items like yoga mats, car seats, or new packaging.
