Jason Sasse

Ashley Plant Manager

My Contribution to the Mission:
I am responsible for implementing, facilitating, and maintaining the safe operation of the Brightmark Plastics Renewal Facility in Ashley, Indiana. I value the challenge of helping to safely transform imaginative ideas into environmental practices that support sustainable energy.

A Retrospective:
Prior to joining the Brightmark team, I enjoyed over three decades working in chemical manufacturing, supporting the safe production of specialty chemicals and gases used in everything from daily products, to liquid hydrogen used in NASA space shuttle launches. In my most recent position, I led a multi-million-dollar capital expansion project for a chemical plant, from original scope development through design, construction, and startup. I feel most proud of the team completion of the project under budget, with no injuries, and with priority to a reduced environmental footprint. I truly appreciate learning and working with a variety of people, who together can create changes with positive impacts for our world.

Diplomas On My Wall:
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Where Else You Might Find Me:
Throwing the baseball with my son, helping my daughters with their chemistry and math, or boating, golfing, biking or beaching. I enjoy travel, grilling out in warm weather, and watching Purdue basketball when the Northern Indiana snow falls!

Words I Live By:
The best leaders lead by example. I try to listen before I speak. No contribution from one person is more important than the contribution of another.
