RecycleForce is a 501(c)3 social enterprise based in Indianapolis, Indiana that delivers comprehensive and innovative recycling services in support of workforce training, development and job placement for formerly incarcerated men and women transitioning back to society. In December 2019, Brightmark and RecycleForce launched a partnership program around training, hiring, and recycling at Brightmark’s Ashley, Indiana plastics renewal facility.

Using the revenue generated by its recycling business, RecycleForce is helping formerly incarcerated individuals rebuild their lives by providing gainful employment and comprehensive social services. RecycleForce is dedicated to developing and implementing effective strategies to reduce recidivism while improving the environment, local and state economies and communities and the lives of hundreds of formerly incarcerated men and women and their families.

RecycleForce provides 300 formerly incarcerated men and women with workforce training, case management, peer mentorship, and job opportunities each year.

Analysis has shown that RecycleForce’s benefits to society are significant: reduced recidivism and increased employment produced $1.20 in economic value for every dollar invested in the program.
