Brightmark is seeking post-use plastics 1-7 from across the Eastern United States to power its advanced recycling plants nationwide. Looking for an offtaker for your municipality or company’s plastic recycling stream? Learn more below about our July 2020 solicitation for plastic waste and contact us today. Partner with us on our journey to reimagine waste.

Our Plastics Renewal Technology

Brightmark’s proprietary plastics renewal technology takes single-stream, post-use plastics 1-7 and converts them into ultra-low sulfur diesel, naphtha, and wax, at a scale never achieved before. To date, the company has successfully disrupted particularly challenging waste streams, including boat shrink wrap, e-waste, and children’s car seats. Our process is also capable of creating the building blocks for new plastics, thus enabling a circular economy in the plastics industry. If it’s plastic, we can probably recycle it.

Our Expansion Plans

Brightmark aims to fundamentally reimagine the way the world manages and views waste streams like traditionally “single use” plastics. To achieve this, we’re developing large-scale recycling facilities across the Eastern United States that will be capable of processing upwards of 400,000 tons of plastic waste per year, per plant.

Our first advanced plastic recycling plant, located in Northeast Indiana, is now in testing and will be operating at production-scale early next year. We are now in the final phases of determining the locations of our next recycling facilities in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, or Texas. We plan to have at least two of these new sites shovel-ready by 2021. To power these plants, we need plastic feedstock. Quite a lot of it.

We Want Your Plastic

That’s where you come in. If your municipality, company, or organization has plastic waste up for grabs each year, we want to recycle it. We’re calling on materials recovery facilities and waste collection companies to reach out to us about how we can help to alleviate the overwhelming supply of plastic waste they face, in an effort to contract for 1,200,000 tons per year of plastics 1-7. Right align the map here.

Here are our two basic criteria for consideration:

  • Must be located in the Eastern United States
  • Must be able to consistently provide us with a minimum of 1,000 tons of plastic waste per year
