Job Summary:
We are seeking a Vice President of Structured Finance to join the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Finance team. The candidate is expected to support the team by leading project finance structuring, negotiations, and execution, as well as oversee project finance modeling to evaluate, price, and advance development projects. This leader will build out a scalable structured finance function at Brightmark, cultivating the team, tools, and process to support Brightmark’s transformational growth. The VP, Structured Finance will act as a primary contact for banks and potential investors while growing our partner network. As part of the management team, you will also be heavily involved in shaping our strategy and organization.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary day-to-day lead on financing transactions, including strategy development, preparation of materials, investor outreach, and execution
- Build upon the existing team of talented structured finance experts. Lead the team on a day-to-day basis and support the team’s professional growth. Provide leadership and direction to staff and foster development of employees and teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with financing parties, including equity investors, lenders, project investors and others.
- Responsible for the integrity of modeling in support of project finance and investment decision making.
- Prepare presentation materials for potential lenders and investors as well as existing project and corporate stakeholders.
- Evaluate and execute acquisition opportunities.
- Enhance and maintain cross-functional work streams in support of project finance modeling, development activities and closing all types of finance transactions.
- Design, establish, and maintain organizational structure and systems to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives.
- Promote a culture of innovation by continuously challenging staff to pursue process improvement initiatives, automation enhancements and idea generation, to ensure transactions are being run optimally.
- Promote knowledge transfer and training with respect to financing strategies, debt and equity arrangements and financial market considerations
Experience & Professional Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience post-MBA, or 6+ years of financing experience post-BA is required
- Experience in the areas of renewable energy, natural resources, or industrials is a plus
- Knowledge of project finance and project development is a plus
- Significant experience building, maintaining, auditing, and editing Excel-based project finance models
- Experience reviewing and negotiating legal documents related to equity and debt transactions
- Experience managing direct reports and a cross-functional project team of subject matter experts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the creation and delivery of crisp management and investor presentations
- Demonstrated record of guiding teams to success
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Self-starter capable of operating with minimal supervision
- Willingness and ability to travel 10-25% on average but more as required by transactions
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
