Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Center of Excellence team. Brightmark is actively creating and implementing I&C standards in order to efficiently deliver world-class control systems that reduce costs, allow remote coordination with on-site operators, reduce deployment time for repairs across dozens of sites, and support robust data collection and analytics. The ideal candidate will serve as a corporate subject matter expert providing a high level of I&C expertise across the organization, supporting project design and development, execution, and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting at active facilities, including after-hours support for emergencies and major system events
- Support commissioning new RNG facilities
- Maintain PLC and SCADA systems and communication interfaces
- Report information to Management and maintain accurate, complete records
- Review control systems, narratives, and IC&E design drawings submitted by 3rd parties
- Help select preferred instrumentation types, makes, and models
- Create an overall control system methodology and maintain design standards
- Work within a global team environment on process improvements
- Manage small teams and technical projects involving contractors
- Participate in HAZOPs and design reviews for projects under development
- Assist the team in maintaining an excellent safety record
- Travel as needed to Brightmark and/or tech provider facilities for technical evaluation, commissioning, and troubleshooting (25-35% travel anticipated)

- Prioritize multiple competing requests from different departments based on high level understanding of the needs of the different projects

- Complete field work quickly and thoroughly, while optimizing time spent on site
- Take initiative to solve problems using a multidisciplinary approach while getting feedback from key stakeholders
Experience & Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university, preferably in Engineering
- 10+ years of professional experience as an I&C Engineer or Automations Specialist
- Experience with industrial networking systems (fiber, copper, and wireless), SCADA controls (Ignition and Active Factory), SQL databases, and reporting systems (AVEVA Pi)
- Understanding of instrumentation technologies for the measurement of liquid and gas flows, temperature, pressure, IR gas analyzers, and gas chromatographs
- Experience with or knowledge of biogas and RNG or similar work applied in rural settings
- Desire to advance waste and energy solutions that have global environmental benefits
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt to changing demands, timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, integrity and confidentiality
- Fluency in MS Applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Power BI, and Word)
- Knowledge of MAXIMO, AutoCAD, Asana, SmartDraw and/or comfort learning and using new IT tools
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, Inductive Automation – Ignition, Active Factory, AVEVA Pi, IXON, SQL, MQTT, and IIoT
Salary:
$129,000.00-$168,000.00
