Accounting Supervisor

Location: San Francisco, CA/Remote


Leadership position supervising Project Accounting Team in a diverse and challenging Accounting Department.  Lots of room for growth as company ramps up in its start‐up phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively supervise up to 4 Project Accountants.
  • Oversee monthly accounting cycle in a manner that achieves an accurate and timely multi‐entity month‐end close.
  • Review and preparation of standard and complex journal entries.
  • Review of monthly and quarterly reconciliation of general ledger accounts and analysis of financial statements, including intercompany transaction accounting and consolidation of the project entities.
  • Key contributor in implementing business process improvements and enhancements to processes as the business grows, including development and documentation of internal controls procedures.
  • Review and prepare schedules and support documentation as required to complete compliance filings.
  • Review and preparation of support schedules for, and expected regular interaction with, external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Drive collaboration with others across the business resulting in an opportunity to grow and gain a robust understanding of the company by working with Structured Finance, FP&A, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting, Project and Asset Managers, and the Operations & Maintenance team.
  • Lead ad‐hoc projects as requested, and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and evolves.


  • CPA or bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance department is required.
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) is required.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Proven and effective leader with ability to supervise a growing team, with focus on deadline timeliness and attention to detail is required.
  • Persistence and strong communication skills needed in order to resolve problems effectively and efficiently with others across the business is required.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct software is preferred.
  • Experience with multi‐entity organization structure reporting (similar to real estate industry) and related accounting is preferred.
  • Experience with accounting for foreign entities is a plus.
  • Experience with oil & gas or renewable energy is a plus.
  • This position is expected to be based in the San Francisco office up to 3 days a week (absent COVID restrictions).
