Location: San Francisco 

Under direction of the General Counsels and Director of Legal Services, the Contracts Administrator will be responsible for assisting the Contracts Manager with the contracts function of the Legal Department by handling contract preparation, organization and assembly for the Legal, Business Development, Finance and Engineering & Operations teams, providing transaction support for Brightmark’s projects, obtaining and distributing information, and supporting the Legal Department’s signature coordination, document management and general legal administrative processes. The position is located at Brightmark’s headquarters in San Francisco, California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Contracts Manager, responsible for general contracts management for the Legal, Business Development and Engineering & Operation teams, including contract drafting and legal administration for the RNG and Plastics Divisions
  • Manage the workflow and coordinate execution of various agreements, contracts and notices
  • Assist in the management of the legal invoice approval and budgeting process
  • Assist the Legal Team with project and corporate financing arrangements
  • Assist Contracts Manager with the preparation and review of Non-Disclosure Agreements; management of the NDA Request system; maintenance and circulation of the Master NDA Log
  • Assist Contracts Manager with the Legal Request Form system
  • Coordinate the review of real estate title searches
  • Maintain records and document management systems
  • Preparation of document redlines and redactions
  • Maintenance of compliance records and filing of routine regulatory reports and tax filings
  • Assist with maintaining the Legal Department’s Standard Forms library
  • Virtual Data Room set-up and maintenance
  • Assist Director of Legal Services with legal entity governance matters
  • General word processing and document compilation
  • Assist with Legal Department’s day-to-day requests
  • Serve as a Legal Department ambassador by interacting with and providing support to all departments within Brightmark
  • Assist with special projects as requested and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience working with contracts, virtual data rooms and maintaining document management systems
  • Familiarity with contract documents and terms, with an ability to identify and summarize material terms
  • Experience conducting detailed research

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least two years of related experience
  • At least two years of contracts management or related experience required
  • Experience in a similar industry function, preferably in renewables, a plus
  • Previous in-house legal or law firm experience required
  • Fast-paced growth, emerging company experience preferred
