MACON, Ga.—A new recycling and renewal center is set to be built in Bibb County. According to Brightmark’s CEO Bob Powell, this facility will be going on Walden Road in Macon.

“We’re really excited about what we are going to do, we are going to bring to Macon-Bibb County the largest of its kind facility,” says Powell. According to officials, this new state-of-the-art facility will be a 5.3 million-square-foot site.

The total amount it will cost is 680 million dollars.

“We will take all the plastic that we use and throw away, and turn them back into plastics and make fuels out of them. So it’s a really big scale and we are going to take about 400 thousand tons of plastic a year out of the environment,” says Powell.
